DURBAN - There will be no DreamTeam reunion with Zulu Mkhathini (once known as Dash) at the fourth annual Dubane Spring Break this weekend, the DreamTeam duo of Trey and Saso revealed.

The DreamTeam group, originally consisted of the three friends - Dash, Trey and Saso - until Mkhathini decided to call it quits from the group and focus on his own music and TV presenting career last year.

Together, they released several music projects and have hosted the Dubane Spring Break.

Speaking to the Sunday Tribune in Durban on Wednesday, DreamTeam's Trevor "Trey" Sineke and Lusaso "Saso" Ngcobo, said although there would be no reunion as it was still too soon, Zulu Mkhathini would be among the performers at the show which takes place at the uShaka Marine World.

“Zulu Makhathini will be performing on his own capacity as a solo artist and we will be performing as a duo," said Saso, who said there was no bad blood between them.

“We are still very much friends, it's just that one of us chose to go on a different path which is to pursue his craft on his own and we are 100% behind him,“ added Trey.

Trey said they would not be adding a third member as the idea behind the 'DreamTeam' came about when the three friends had a dream and decided to execute it.

“We’re not looking to replace anyone in the group right now, we are just releasing singles and giving our fans music and just seeing their reaction to our new music, since we are now a duo,” said Trey.

DreamTeam has released titled "Young Mandela" to commemorate the former statesman and they have started a #YoungMandelaChallenge.

“In commemoration of the Nelson Mandela cintenary The #YoungMandelaChallenge is a challenge where we encourage young MC’s to put on their own verses on the Young Mandela instrumental, so they can tell us from their perspective, what Mandela means or meant to them".

Dubane Spring Break tickets are going  from R199 for general access and R380 for VIP access with artists like Casper Nyovest, DJ Tira, Da Les, TipCee, Sphe & Naves, the event will be hosted by Pearl Thusi and Scoop Makhathini
