Eleven people have died in four separate incidents at the weekend, provincial traffic chief Kenny Africa said.

On Sunday morning at around 3am along Old Paarl road in Kraaifontein a driver lost control of the car, and all four people in the car died.

"SAPS Kraaifontein attended to the crash scene and are busy with an indepth investigation,"Africa said.

At around 6am there was a fatal accident along the N1 near De Doorns, during which the driver also control, and five people were killed.

Africa said the vehicle rolled, and another three people were seriously injured.

On Saturday night at about 9pm a motorcycle collided with an bakkie on the N7 Plattekloof direction Cape Town, killing the motorcyclist.

In the Villiersdorp in the Overberg, a pedestrian was knocked and killed.

"This brings the reported fatalities in the province to 11 for the weekend so far," Africa said.
