Coffee lovers will be thrilled to learn that what's billed as the world’s most sophisticated espresso bar has been launched in the heart of the Atlantic Seaboard in Sea Point.
The opening of the global coffee, pâtisserie and café brand Coco Safa at the cutting-edge new flagship store Artem Centre, previously known as The Adelphi Centre, follows Coco Safa’s recent relocation from Claremont.
Coco Safar International co-founder and chief executive officer Wilhelm Liebenberg said the "expanded and immersive" Coco Safar promises to deliver many world firsts in its offering of speciality coffee and Rooibos products, collections of Nespresso-compatible capsules, couture * âtisserie, relaxed café fare and curated retail lifestyle accessories.
Liebenberg said some of the elements planned for the new store were still under wraps, and loyal customers of the Coco Safar brand could expect the same retro-chic ambience, smooth service, attention to detail and culinary innovation the brand had become known for.
“We recognised that Sea Point is a thriving community going through a renaissance, which will make it Cape Town’s hot spot and newest destination for innovative retail stores and eateries,” he said.
“The future significance of the area is undisputed, and after an extended search for the right premises in the right location with ample space for the theatrical culinary retail experience we wanted to deliver, we couldn't be more thrilled with our new street-level location,” he added.
Some of the world-firsts that Coco Safar is revealing in Sea Point include the world’s first 100% natural, alcohol-free botanical micro-brewery, and the first airtight, compostable (Nespresso compatible) coffee and rooibos bio-capsules in Africa.
There's also the world's most sophisticated expresso brew bar and a state-of-the-art roasting machine, which will be used for the first time in Africa.
As part of the Sea Point neighbourhood rejuvenation, the old Adelphi Centre is undergoing a R200 million transformation and will relaunch as Artem, a luxurious galleria-style centre.
