Lennit Max joins FF+ as mayoral candidate

CAPE TOWN - Police Minister Bheki Cele’s former special advisor, Lennit Max will wear the FF Plus’ mayoral hat when he contests for the party during upcoming local government elections.

The party announced Max as its mayoral candidate on Wednesday.

He resigned from his special advisor position in July.

“Max is a well-known public figure who has made a valuable contribution to public service delivery in the City of Cape Town as well as the province of the Western Cape.

“He is a seasoned politician and has, among other things, obtained the following qualifications: B.Proc, LLB and LLM.

“He served as the provincial Police Commissioner for the province between 1999 and 2003.

“He, furthermore, also served as the Provincial Minister of Community Safety in the Western Cape as well as a Member of Parliament,” said FF Plus provincial leader Dr Corné Mulder.

“Max is a well-known public figure who has made a valuable contribution to public service delivery in the City of Cape Town as well as the province of the Western Cape,” added Mulder.

Councillor Erika Botha-Rossouw will run as the party’s mayoral candidate.

“Together (with Max) they make a strong team flying the FF Plus's banner in the Cape Town Metro during the 2021 local government elections and into the future.

Mrs Botha-Rossouw is a seasoned politician as well and former deputy leader of the FF Plus in the Western Cape.

“She has played an active role in the party since 2009 and currently represents the FF Plus as councillor in the Cape Town metro council.

“She is an expert in the field of social service and the wellbeing of humans and animals in need is very close to her heart,” said Mulder.
