Three Atlantis men facing seven charges related to the murder of a 2-year-old and gunshot injuries to two other victims will hear their fate at the Western Cape High Court on Thursday.

Renaldo Galant, Charlton Renier and Andrew Hendricks will appear over the shooting and killing of baby Braydon Graaff, who was with his mother and her friend at the MyCiti bus stop near Babblers Place in Sampson Way, Atlantis, on October 22, 2016.

It was believed Rostan and Braydon had been on their way to visit the toddler’s father when tragedy struck.

Braydon, who was shot in his chest, was killed in crossfire when the three accused, all members of the G Unit gang, got out of a vehicle to shoot at another man, who was also at the bus stop at the time.

Braydon’s mother, Rostan Graaff, was also injured during the shooting, while the intended victim, Dennic Hendricks, was also shot and injured when the accused fired multiple shots.

Braydon was rushed to Wesfleur Hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival.

All three accused face seven criminal charges, including murder, two charges of attempted murder, possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.

Earlier this year, they all pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.

At the time of the shooting, police sources confirmed the Atlantis community was in the midst of a gang turf war between two major rival gangs – the Americans and the 28s.

The men were arrested less than 24 hours after the shooting occurred.
