Cape Town - Sixteen-year-old Donna-Leigh Don’s phone was left at her house to charge when she went missing two Sundays ago.

The clue however has not yielded any results.

The teenager went missing on Sunday, July 24, and has yet to be found.

Desperate pleas have been made on social media to help find her.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg said the search for her continued.

“A 16-year-old girl went missing on Sunday afternoon (2022-07-24) when she left her parents’ house.

“At the time of her disappearance, it was not sure of the exact clothing that she had on.

“She left her phone on charge at the house.

“All Information received was followed up but up to date with no success.

“Community members of Lamberts Bay took the initiative to start search parties to assist the SAPS.

“All role players (K9 Unit, NSRI, Boland Diving Unit, Air wing) were contacted and are still participating in the ongoing search for the 16 year old Donna-Leigh Don,” Twigg said.

Community activist and Executive Director of the Rural and Farmworkers Development Organisation, Billy Claasen asked people to refrain from hysteria on social media, because the messages reached Don’s parents.

“All possible clues are being investigated. To date there’s been no positive news.”
