An opinion regarding traffic roadblocks in morning peak hour traffic.

First, I want to acknowledge that the traffic police, as well as the SAPS departments, have a tough job.

I do not deny that they are probably trying their best under the circumstances.

However, conducting a roadblock checking point in the morning during peak-hour traffic on a very busy main road is downright criminal.

It is not only workers who need to get to work on time, but also students who need to get to school and campus.

What do you tell the university when you are refused entry into an exam venue because they are 45 minutes late because of a traffic road block?

Consider the collective amount of revenue lost to the workers.

What do you tell the school authorities when they call you in because you dropped your child off at school an hour late?

I can imagine the frustration the working people have when their already meagre salary is less by an hour's worth of money at the end of the
week/month.

I politely request that roadblocks during peak-morning hours be banned and declared illegal.
