Why does is take a parcel to be posted from China to South Africa an average of 32 days, yet it take 60+ days for the same parcel to be delivered within South Africa?

When are you going to do an exposé on the South African Post Office? It is the single biggest killer of SME small and medium importers.

It is often said that the biggest impediment to doing business in a country is red tape. While I agree to certain extent, I think that the biggest problem for small and medium enterprises is the South African Post Office.

Why are we only looking at SAA, Eskom and Denel when there are huge, unexplained problems with the post office?

I ordered some products for a client on June 6. The parcel arrived in South Africa on July 11. It set sat for a month at the Johannesburg International Mail Centre until August 6. It went to customs clearance on August 11.

It went back to the Johannesburg International Mail Centre on September 6. I still do not have the products I ordered and my customer, who has paid, thinks that we are crooks.

Why are they not accountable for their actions? Please look into this matter. This is our tax money paying people who are on a go-slow! It is hard to imagine that these are the same people who will handle social grants.
