The Raymond Ackerman Academy of Entrepreneurial Development is a post-matric academy, which offers an inspiring and innovative programme in entrepreneurship for the young people between the ages of 18 and 30.
This programme is offered to young people who are passionate about business and personal development, with limited opportunities of accessing tertiary education or finding employment.
Through the course, students are able to develop their entrepreneurial mind-sets, gain business and personal leadership skills, learn about professionalism and build confidence.
The academy offers a six-month full time certificate programme hosted at the UCT Graduates School of Business. 30 students are selected per programme.
Programme duration: January to June 2018.
Application Deadline: December 1, 2017.
Cost: R2 500

Criteria:
18 to 30 years old.
No previous tertiary education.
Matric (this is looked at on a case by case basis if applicants have not completed matric).
Have been unable to pursue a tertiary education due to financial constraints or other circumstances.
Interest in business and entrepreneurship (not necessary to have their own business).
A typical RAA candidate is optimistic, hopeful, open and committed to learning, values integrity.
Someone with passion, drive, dreams and goals and who wants to develop their entrepreneurial spirit and creativity.
A young person who is looking for an opportunity to step up and show up.
