Cape Town - The University of Cape Town (UCT) has opened applications for admission to study at the institution for various programmes for the 2020 academic year. Prospective students may apply online .
Director of Admissions at UCT, Mr Carl Herman says: “Prospective students are encouraged to view the wide array of programmes on offer and relevant requirements in the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes available on the UCT website. They should also apply as early as possible to ensure they do not miss the new application closing date which has been changed to 31 July 2019 for undergraduate study.”
The university has committed significant funds for financial aid packages to support financially needy students and has details of outside organisations that also provide financial assistance.
UCT believes that no eligible student should be denied the opportunity of higher education because of a lack of money. Financial assistance to poor and middle-class families is central for academic success.
A comprehensive financial assistance programme caters for students whose combined household income does not exceed R600 000.
At UCT, students are exposed to a vibrant community of multicultural staff and students from across South Africa, Africa and the world. While academic success is of major importance to the student community, the university also provides a platform that takes care of its students’ physical health and mental well-being.
