Cape Town -  Twelve pupils who attended the recent African Future Leaders Hub conference at the Castle of Good Hope were invited by the Malaysia Institute of Debate and Public Speaking (MIDP) to attend their Schools Camp for Advanced Reasoning Skills debate camp in Kuching, Borneo, in Malaysia.

They have been invited to represent Africa at a two-day debate camp in Malaysia on December 10-11.

The pupils will take part in an “inspirational weekend” filled with educational debate lectures, workshops and training sessions, which will be co-ordinated by some internationally experienced debate champions and trainers.

“These students have been excellent in our programme this year in the Western Cape,” said Africa Future Leaders Hub founder Denilson Ralekoala.

“They have participated in our various contests such as the National Road Safety Debate programme in Gauteng.

“It did not come as a surprise when they emerged on the adjudication score sheets as the best overall winners from our previous convention.

“Being invited to this Malaysia competition is exactly what they need to learn the necessary skills and strategies on world debate standards,” said Ralekoala.

Pupils invited to the camp will be accompanied by four adults, including a teacher and Ralekoala.

Four of the pupils are from Cape Town.

He appealed to members of the public to assist. He can be reached by email at [email protected] or call 081 887 6479.
