Shocked at the Premier Soccer League's decision to declare Siphelele Mthembu an Orlando Pirates player, Kaizer Chiefs' management will convene on Tuesday to decide whether to appeal against the ruling.

The PSL's dispute resolution chamber ruled that Mthembu's contract with Pirates "is valid" and that his registration as a Buccaneers player "is proper".

The Soweto giants have been engaged in a bitter battle, with both clubs claiming that they had legitimately signed the striker from his former club, Maritzburg City.

This is not the end of the saga, as Kaiser Chiefs have seven working days in which to file an appeal.

Amakhosi are known to have paid him a salary, and recently the KwaZulu-Natal born player collected a winner's medal at the MTN8 final against Mamelodi Sundowns.

It is unknown whether he will be expected to return it, as he has now been declared a Pirates player.
