Zulu Royals striker Jackie Ledwaba is confident that his team will move away from the relegation zone by beating Wits University in a Castle Premiership match at King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday.

The gifted Ledwaba, who is also the Premiership top goalscorer with 12 goals, said on Tuesday they were determined to win their four remaining matches of the 2003/2004 soccer season.

"It will obviously be a tough match against Wits who registered a 1-0 win over rejuvenated Lamontville Golden Arrows at the weekend," said Ledwaba.

"We have been training hard and everybody in the camp is looking forward to winning against Wits. We cannot afford to continue donating the points."

Royals, who are under the watchful eye of former Bafana Bafana

coach Clive Barker, were defeated by tail-enders Hellenic during their last match a fortnight ago.

Ledwaba is one of the players who have been invited to attend the local training camp by the new Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter. The camp takes place in Johannesburg on Thursday and Friday.

"I would like to thank God that I have been given the opportunity to represent my country," said the 30-year-old Ledwaba, who joined Usuthu from Dynamos earlier this season.

"Obviously one will have to continue working hard to be selected for the 2006 World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde Islands in Potchefstroom on June 5." - Sapa
