Cape Town - It's best you stay indoors this weekend, as a intense cold front makes landfall on Saturday.

The City of Cape Town has issued a weather warning.

"The South African Weather Service has advised the City’s Disaster Management Centre that an intense cold front is expected to make landfall over the Western Cape tomorrow afternoon," the City said.

"It’s expected that the front will result in strong winds, high seas and rainfall that could result in localised flooding over the West Coast, Cape Metropole, Overberg, and Cape Winelands Districts.

"Disaster Risk Management will coordinate any City response required as a result of the forecast and will monitor roads, informal settlements, mountainous and low lying areas, in particular.

"Residents are reminded to please exercise caution and to report any weather-related emergencies to the City’s 107 call centre by dialling 021 480 7700 from a cellphone or 107 from a landline.

"General service requests can be directed via the general call centre on 0860 103 089 or via the City’s website," the City said.
