DURBAN - The Durban Fire Department has contained a fire that broke out at a factory in Clairwood in Durban south on Tuesday morning.
ALS Paramedics Medical Services attended the scene.
Paramedic Garrith Jamieson said ALS received multiple calls of a factory well alight in the Karim Lane just after 10.30am.
“Paramedics arrived on the scene to fInd the Durban Fire Department as well as employees trying to douse the flames in the factory,” he said.
Jamieson said by 10.55am, the fire was still active, although firefighters did have the fire under control.
“Paramedics stood by and once the fire had been contained four of the employees sustained minor smoke inhalation. They were treated on scene and are currently being transported by ALS Paramedics to a nearby hospital for the further care that they required,” he said.
He added that the Durban Fire Department, together with SAPS, will be investigating the cause of this fire.
